72 foot static houseboat for sale, ex naval conversion, she is built of double diagonal larch and copper sheathed, built to last. Nice lounge with office space to the front, fully central heated by combi boiler. One large single/small double bedroom, 1 double bedroom with room to convert the engine room to a third. Engines have been removed. Two built in bunks to the front of the boat with wardrobe and storage space. Good working galley kitchen with oven, gas hob, washing machine, fridge freezer. Bathroom with bath/shower and sink with separate toilet with washbasin. Outside decking areas could do with some maintenance but still sound. The boat is on a tidal mooring with good views of Rochester Castle and Rochester Bridge. The mooring fee is £312 a calendar month. This famous Devon lady has had a number of interesting roles in her long history. She was originally commissioned as a rescue motor launch and served her country during the Second World War before taking up life as a ferry locally.
Her current owner bought her when she was retired from service and has spent considerable time, money and love converting her into a beautiful, luxurious home with all modern conveniences without detracting from the wonderful historic features around the boat.
She is still fully seaworthy and has completed several cruises with her owners, their family and friends providing a fantastic and much admired living space wherever they have been.

Interior re- fitted in 2002. Open plan widebeam lay out with one master bedroom, bathroom with bath and shower, wash basin, cassette toilet. Kitchen with sink, fridge freezer, gas cooker and washing machine / dryer. Living room with desk, sofa bed and diesel oil stove that heats all radiators.
Marpessa has been our happy home for the past four years. Her large windows with wooden blinds make for great river views in every room and lots of light. She can be driven from the inside but also has the benefit of an outside rear driving station not often found on these boats. Her single V drive perkins diesel engine is powerful for her size which makes her an easy boat to cruise. Marpessa also has a full length sun roof in the living room, perfect for a summers day or good for some winter sun when the stove is on! 12v electrics and shoreline plug in 24v. Generous storage space throughout which makes her a very comfortable, full time live- a-board. Marpessa is being sold (reluctantly) as we are now in need of a second bedroom.
This boat is being sold off mooring.
Full survey and anti-fouling carried out in 2004, details available on request. Boat safety valid till 2010.

A extremely rare chance to purchase a residential mooring in West London. The present craft, in fairly poor condition, represents only a small amount of the asking price and therefore offers an excellent opportunity to improve or replace.

Description

Mooring
At present, Lennard has a residential mooring at Barking Creek, which a new owner could take over on a short or long-term basis. Barking already has a number of residential vessels, and is also a good position from which to conduct any fitting out that you require.
In addition, there are also new moorings being developed in Chelsea & Battersea, which Lennard would be well suited for (more information available on enquiry).
Wheel House 33ft x 12.6ft
This huge wheelhouse would make a fantastic kitchen/dining space or lounge. It has a single door on the aft port side to the exterior, and large French windows opening on to the forward decks.
6 huge windows and 2 portholes let lots of additional light into this great space, and the room has power points and lighting already installed.
At the aft end, an internal door leads down into the aft accommodation, next to which is the door to the exterior walkway.
Forward of the two doors, a wide stairway leads down to the main living space.
Main Living Space 64ft x 14ft (ceiling height range from 6ft 6” to 9ft)
The main hold of the Lennard has been opened out to form a vast space which would make a single large living area, or could easily be subdivided to form multiple bedrooms, a living room, a study and a bathroom – as desired.
At the aft end, traditional brass portholes line the walls, whilst at the forward end, the ceiling level rises and additional windows supplement the portholes, bringing additional light into the space.
This lovely space has a ceiling hatch, which opens out onto the main deck above, and would lend itself to a spiral staircase.

At 64ft long, this room forms the largest space on an already generously proportioned vessel. The staggered ceiling height makes the space even more light and airy.
There is also an additional exit forward, with full head height, which opens up onto the fore-deck, allowing separate entry to what is currently the main living space.
As the room curves gently into the prow of the boat another door opens into a second room.
Forward Room 12ft x 8ft
This lovely tapering space opens directly off the main living area, and would make a perfect bathroom,
study, or bedroom.
This is the smallest room on the Lennard, and is cosy by comparison to the others, and full of character,
with small portholes allowing light in, whilst retaining privacy.
Foc'sle/Chain Locker
Accessible only from the deck, in the very prow of the Lennard is a substantial chain locker, for secure storage of anchor, chains, ropes and fenders.
Engine Room
The engine room is accessed via a discreet door in the aft wall of the main living space and is full height throughout for easy access and maintenance.

42ft X topsail schooner, built in Looe Cornwall, by; Curtis and Pape in 1964. She is the last square topsail schooner to be built in Cornwall, so is quite special. I have her plans and she really is quite something. Her uniqueness though has not been respected over the years and now she finds herself a mere liveaboard. I'm sure she would make a fabulous project for an enthusiast to restore to her former glory, having said that she is very cozy, if you don't mind dodging the leaks. The galley comprises of a cooker, sink, fridge, cupboards, work surfaces, and seating area. The boat also has a reflecks diesel heater. She has an onboard toilet and loads of storage, her engine was removed to provide room for a double bed. She is permanently moored at Gweek Quay Boatyard, which supplies showers facilities, toilet, and a postal address. Electricity is from a slot meter alongside Pacific Moon ( That's her name). It is a working yard with a chandlery. Gweek is positioned on the river Helford. The boat figurehead is original. The mooring is 12mths of the year and is very cheap at 165.59 a month + 5 week for each person aboard. LIVEABOARD HAS TO BE APPROVED BY THE YARD
