A beautiful example of a Dutch Luxemotor, this still has original loading crane and winches. It was converted for livaboard in the 1950s with steel superstructure and has been considerately fitted out over the last 15 years using many quality reclaimed materials to provide a cosy characterful home. It is designed as open plan but could be converted to add more rooms.
Dirk is currently 2 berth, utilising the stern quarters as a generous cabin with king size bed, under bed storage and other fitted and freestanding furniture. There is a large opening window on the rear.
The wheelhouse, which has been built from hardwood and double glazed glass is collapsible but would require removable roof panels to allow cruising, offers a glorious room for dining and entertaining and watching the world go by. It has a solid oak floor and is trimmed with a mixture of pitch pine, tropical hardwoods and panelling.
The Leyland 6 cylinder engine ,(Daf 475) is working but needs recomissioned. The exhaust system is available but will need to be fitted.
The gearbox is a Paragon hydraulic reduction box which has been fully rebuilt with documentation by Lewellyns of Bristol.
The galley is down the stairs, with vintage aluminium Paul Metalcraft kitchen units. Lots of cupboard space and retro range cooker. There is a full size undercounter fridge with breakfast bar and fabulous teak tops and retro laminate tops surrounding the rest of the area. The steps dowm from the wheelhouse are all drawers which provide yet more storage.
The salon is a lovely comfortable size with full size three seater sofa and space for chairs and storage This space could be sectioned off to add more rooms but I designed it with open plan living in mind.
The woodburning stove is a Much Wenlock 6kw with equivilent back boiler running 4 radiators and calorfier.
The large windows are a mix of fixed double glazed units and beautiful large brass opening portholes.
There are two roof hatches which provide lots of light and fresh air on sunny days.
The bathroom has a decent size corner bath, washbasin and chemical toilet,
The other room adjecent is currently a pantry but would work as a kids or guest bedroom, study, office or small workshop. There is access to the front deck and also the front storage hold here too.
The front storage hold is approx 4m x 2.5m, fully sprayfoamed and panelled out. A very useful space for both storage or potentially generator, water tank, water filter etc.
The power unit is a Victron Easysolar 24v. This is a very capable unit which makes charging batteries, managing solar and switching to and from shore power very simple. There are 2 solar panels giving 575w of charge.
There are power points for 240v and USB sockets throughout the boat.
The fuel tank is approx 300l and the water tank is 400l.
The hot water and cooking is LPG gas.
The boat was sprayfoam insulated with 50mm throughout and pine panelled.
The hull was surveyed and blacked in October 2021.
Full paintwork undertaken 2024.
The private mooring is included with the vessel and is very spacious. As it is the end boat on the group of moorings it has a large well kept gargen area with lawn, wood store and vegetable plots. There is plenty of parking and space to enjoy.
Its a very secure and sociable community and is a highly sought after spot. The mooring fees are currently £730 per month and the electricity is a prepaid meter. Water is included and the tap is just outside the boat. The access ramp is also right outside so a very accessible mooring.
