The stunning sleek profile of this blue, white and black Dutch Sailing Barge, originally built in Netherlands in c1925, is really impactful. The steel helm steering wheel mounted on the aft deck, looks over the cabin house which consists of five parts, of differing heights, providing natural light with hatches and deck lights to the accommodation below.
With a complete refurbishment inside, it has been kept in very good condition and is on a residential mooring in the popular boating community of South Dock Marina. When you enter down the elegant wooden staircase to the accommodation, the bright open plan living is a surprising and welcoming contrast to the exterior. The oak hardwood engineered floor enhances the generous volume. The contemporary modern feel and spacious layout compliments the traditional Dutch barge design features, like riveted steel lapped plates, timber beams and columns and panelled walls, all are painted white and can be admired throughout.
The galley design is a continuation of the modern aesthetic and material palette. All the cabinets are white base units with wooden countertops and glass backsplash.
Traditional boat details are celebrated in the lighting also, ribbed glass ceiling mounts with brass frames light the saloon space and a caged ships lamp lights the entrance.
The double master cabin to the front section is accessible via a bulkhead door. The room is a generous size with a large built in king size bed with side tables sitting on an engineered hardwood plinth. A roof hatch lets the natural light in and it has recessed ceiling spots and bedside lights.
The bathroom is located so that it conveniently doubles as an ensuite and main bathroom. It is a generous size for a boat and fully tiled around the free standing bath. The original steel plating and riveting of this Dutch vessel is also exposed in the bathroom and works well with the monochrome design, which is a combination of victorian design ironmongery, large freestanding bath, metro style tiles with dark grout, feature tile recesses and a dramatic ornate patterned tiled floor.
The sale price of boat includes the 10% of selling price payable to Southwark Council for the transfer of the residential licence fee. If required the boat can be sold with out the licence and the sale price would be adjusted accordingly.
