This is Marmalade , she’s a ex military vessel built by Fairlies in 1956.
I have many pictures, it belongs to a friend of mine but I know this vessel well, I’ve been right through it a few years back .
Now the hull is double diagonal planking with teak on oak.
She’s strong but personally as a shipwright I would strip the deck boards ply it and grp the lot while it’s dry and new then gell coat it giving you a completely water tight deck.
The wheelhouse is removed for good so access is easy to do the deck and build your own wheelhouse pilot house, I do believe she’s 52 foot long x 13 foot beam.
It’s on dry land right now where’d again up to the rubbing streake I would personally grp sheath her and again epoxy the lot, this will give you twenty more years at least, I can tell you she has a functioning hydraulic steering and a FODEN FD -6 MARINISED engine which you can sell for good money and use that space if your going to be static of leave it so you will have a travelling house boat.
I do know people who can move Marmalades or you can take over the hard standing then sail her wherever your heart takes you .
Ideal air b n b or live aboard.
She’s worth doing as she’s famous for being in a movie and indeed is on the historical register ..
Blank canvas to do as you wish but is currently functioning as a house boat in need upgrade and remedial work for its new life.
All the donkey work was done some thirty years ago .
I can carry out the work at your cost as I have plans that could make the vessel bigger Maude without a crazy amount of alterations .
