This houseboat conversion has been built to a very high spec and finish. The original hull is GRP, cathedral (triple) hull so incredibly stable in the water. Built in the 1970s as a passenger ferry, it is of a very solid, thick construction. Extensive work was carried out to refurbish the hull prior to coating, with full photographic records.
The superstructure is of treated timber and marine ply, and the entire vessel has been coated in Polyurea, high impact resistant polurethene coating.
It has 40mm sprayfoam throughout, and Windows are double glazed units with some opening some fixed. It is a very thermally efficient vessel, so heating costs are kept low.
It is an unfinished project - wiring is in place as are water pipes. The tank and pumps are bought but not fitted.
There is a Brand new hydraulic drive pod fitted and the engine (Lister canalstar 3) is not fitted. It has the scope to be an all electric vessel with ample space for solar panels and an electric engine to power the hydraulics.
The engine bay, diesel and gas lockers are all accessed by hatches on the back deck.
There is a fresh full survey report.
