Description

This unusual vessel is a 1990 steel replica of a Motor Torpedo Boat. Only two of these were ever produced.
She is a wonderful spacious, bright and alternative home in beautiful locations and even though we use her primarily as just that, she has the ability to go anywhere, is seaworthy and holds two powerful engines.

Exterior
This is the longer of the two vessels, at 55 feet. She is 14ft wide and 5ft deep.
She was built rather thoroughly, of 3 to 6 mm steel, with incredible amounts of reinforced beams
Two all brass large props, completely restored in 2016
Prop shafts all aligned and fine, though if heading for longer sea journeys i would get them checked again
Repainted 2 base coats and 2 top coats in 2019 in Jotul, as well as 4 layers of antifouling below waterline

Interior / Layout
Stern / down stairs double bedroom with shower and space for cot
Galley / entrance, comfortable dining area (could be used as extra berth) and fully equipped kitchen, navigation and chart table
Bow / down stairs study, separating compost toilet, washing machine (Bosch) and dryer (zanussi), these could be moved to cot space in bedroom, lounge (can be second double berth) and living area with fire place
/ all areas have plenty of head room, we are both 6ft2 and can exist here comfortably
Storage
Stern of boat has separate large locker of 2x2m, which currently becomes damp but could be insulated in order to be used for everything

Work done
Full refit from 2015 - 2019, some details only-
In 2017 all the steel work inside and out has been cleaned, grinded, top quality painted, and insulated with 5cm (!) of polyurethane spray foam insulation, keeping her easy to heat in winter and pleasant to be in in summer, combating condensation as well as being fire resistant.
All wood panelling is marine ply, painted both sides with 4 coats of marine quality paint
All windows were removed, restored and refitted

Points that need addressing
Needs 2 extra batteries to start engines, we use our car batteries as we do not move so regularly
Hot water source needs installing
Shower, there is a space for it and building started but as we could use the marina´s showers we never finished or used it
Large back window needs replacing - specs and supplier in place
Some finishing trim
Electrics currently are via mains only, if you want to cruise or travel in her for longer journeys she will need to be made self sufficient
