Premier Houseboats are pleased to present Apriori. and unusual and unique houseboat created from the middle section of a larger barge, offering good living space with the potential to create a larger home.
Apriori was created from the middle section of a 160' Dutch barge in 2010, and has been thoughtfully converted to create comfortable accommodation, with the potential to create further upstairs accommodation, a roof terrace or a mixture of the two.
Entering the houseboat into the lounge you are immediately struck by the near 11, headroom and the light provided by the large windows almost entirely covering the front end. The powerful log burner, with back boiler, provides plenty of heat in the colder months, in a home that is clearly well insulated.
A corridor leads to the kitchen, a good sized area with plenty of storage and work surface, a gas oven, hob and extractor, fridge freezer and washing machine.
Next is the bathroom. again a lovely size, with bath and shower attachment, toilet and hand basin. Further along are two good sized double bedrooms.
A staircase between the lounge and kitchen leads to the upstairs area. This currently has around 5 foot of headroom and is currently used for storage and houses the hot water tank. The potential here is huge.
You could just leave as is and create mezzanine sleeping areas. You could raise the original steel roof by 2-3 foot and create further accommodation. You could take the roof off and build accommodation with patio doors out to good outsize space. The options are endless, which is what makes this such an exciting project.
Apriori can be lived on comfortably immediately, and left as is, or you can create further space to create a dream floating home, by taking any of the ideas above or creating something of your own.
Because of her length and width you have a remarkable amount of space, but she remains affordable from the point of view of ongoing costs. Apriori offers comfortable accommodation in a secure residential marina environment, and a huge amount of potential.
