Description:
The Westerly Tiger is a relatively little known model from Westerly, being in many ways overshadowed by the huge success of the bilge-keeled Centaur, introduced the same year. Designed by John Butler in 1968, they were built to Westerly's normal high constructional standards – i.e. much more heavily built than almost all new yachts of similar size sold today. Although a few inches shorter than the Centaur, they are slightly beamier, and as a result offer very similar interior space. With their well ballasted fin keel and 4' 3" draught, the performance is significantly better than the Centaur. The Tiger was phased out in 1976 with the arrival of the Westerly Pembroke - a fin-keeled version of the Centaur. There are in total six berths, two in the forecabin, a small double created if required by lowering the saloon table, and two quarterberths. There is a separate heads between forecabin and saloon, and the galley on the port side of the saloon has the trademark Westerly moulded-in sink/drainer/plate storage unit
