Our beautiful ‘Yorkshire’ barge ‘Humbrian Sea’ is reluctantly for sale – a unique barge admired and envied by many.
If you are looking for a quieter and more peaceful pace of life this is the boat for you. Wander the tranquil waterways in comfort and take river and coastal trips in the UK and Europe.
A warm, comfortable, spacious barge with double glazing, central heating, solar panels and own generator give you the freedom to wander.
From its spacious wheelhouse, large living room, fully fitted kitchen, two double bedrooms – both ensuite, large workshop and 6’6” headroom throughout you can realise your dream to live aboard in comfort.
No furniture is needed as the boat is fitted throughout with bespoke kitchen units, wardrobes, beds, cupboards, sofas, etc and has a vast amount of storage.
Humbrian Sea comes with a marina mooring, adjacent to the Aire and Calder Canal. There is also close access to the River Humber via the River Ouse and then out to sea. The marina is 10 minutes from J36 of the M62 motorway and the new Siemens Rail factory.
Built by ‘French and Peel’ (time served shipbuilders of large and small craft) to category C specifications.
Fitted out by the present owner (also a time served shipbuilder of large and small craft).
At the heart of the boat is a Gardner 6LW20 diesel engine. You can stand a 1p piece on its end on the rocker box top when the engine is running – a great party piece for a captain to show off.
Humbrian Sea is an exceptionally strong well-built boat with a 6” x 1” keel running full length of the hull and has a watertight steel bulkhead forward enclosing the workshop and steel bulkheads either side of the wheelhouse up to floor level. There are handrails running full length and wide decks to enable ease of walking along the length of the boat.
Humbrian Sea has been designed with ease of use and safety in mind, for extended cruising or to live aboard as the present owners have for the last 15 years.
Fitted out using quality materials and hardwoods, there is spacious accommodation combined with an exceptional amount of storage including a workshop.
A unique feature of the boat are the dolphins. It started when the owner made 2 steel dolphins diving over the bow to hold the anchor in place and has continued throughout the boat from the ss dolphins holding the shrouds, the hand carved dolphins on the doors and skylight hatches through to the ones carved into the settee arm and the feature ones in the master bedroom and the study.
If you are looking for a ‘little ship’ with character and a soul then Humbrian Sea is the boat for you.
