Great Barford River Great Ouse Bedfordshire UK
Beacon Tarn has everything you could possibly need for cruising and living aboard. Fitted throughout with beautiful cherry wood panelling and loads of storage space. Fully supported by an on-board generator, inverter system and solar panels supplying power by 12v and 240v.
A fixed double bedroom (mid-ship) together with a double berth/office area (stern) and a sofa bed in saloon (for the surprise overnight guests) gives a comfortable 6 berth availability.
Beacon Tarn also benefits from having two toilets, one a TECMA Pump-out toilet with 100 gal holding tank (plus inline carbon filter) and a Thetford cassette toilet.
Heating is by a Squirrel Morso Multi-fuel fire and Webasto Central Heating to 4 radiators. Interior lighting is full LED with each spot having 15 individual luminaires giving a great warmth of light during the darker months.
Our narrowboat is situated on a beautiful rural mooring with private access and garden area surrounded by a large variety of wildlife. Easy access to local village and pub.
Travel to main line station 15mins with London 30mins away.
An accessible water point is close by (approx 300m) either via a quick cruise or via a trailer and water tank.
We have lived aboard Beacon Tarn for 8 very happy years in a beautiful location, completely “off grid”. But the time has come to move on to another adventure, so we are selling up ("everything" apart from clothes and personal possessions).
There are too many extras to list fully but range from a 4mx3m metal storage shed/container, two 6ft inflatable boats with outboard, 13ft canoe, 2.8kw portable generator etc. A full list of extras available on request. We have a 10 page word doc (5MB) that describes everything about Beacon Tarn and our mooring which we will happily forward via e-mail to interested parties.
We are not in a great hurry to move but should the right "offer/new owner" come along then we can step away tomorrow.
This is a fantastic opportunity to live in a beautiful location with a full residential address and have a mooring with a transferable 5 YEAR lease, on the River Great Ouse 300m upstream of Great Barford Bridge in Bedfordshire. Full planning consent with registered post code and post box. Off road secured parking for two vehicles in car port. Free fishing. The lease is held by an Angling Association who have owned the land (since approx 1920’s).
We would ideally wish for the narrowboat and mooring go as one and would consider sensible offers. But, for the right offers we would be prepared to split and sell the boat separately from the mooring, all land based items, equipment and the transferable lease.
